Children’s Ballet

Children’s Ballet classes start at age 4 with Pre-Primary Ballet. They are able to take exams in Cecchetti ballet from age 5 upwards. They will move up through the standards & grades in the academy.

Pre-Primary and Primary Ballet are aimed at the younger children.

Standard Ballet grades 1 and 2 are a formal exam but with the advantage that the teacher can direct the children to ensure they are able to pass. Finally Grade 2 and 3 Ballet are formal examinations where the students are expected to understand and deliver the objectives of the exam without support from their teacher.

The Cecchetti method is a rare technique which is not taught by many teachers. It is a ballet technique & rigorous training method devised by the Italian ballet master Enrico Cecchetti (18-50-1928). The method seeks to develop the essential skills of dance (balance, poise, strength, elevation, elasticity & ballon) in students through a meticulously designed training regimen. Jenny’s goal is for students to learn to express themselves through dance.

Ballet is a fantastic way for your child to learn discipline along with dance as it is a very strict form of dance. Jenny  always makes sure the classes are fun as well as disciplined, especially in the younger children.
