Jenny’s journey in dance began at the tender age of 3 with Ballet, quickly expanding to Tap and Modern dance by age 7 at the Kate Simmons School of Dance. Her dedication and talent led her to pursue the Performers & Teachers course at Kate Simmons at 16, where she earned three ISTD Teachers qualifications (DDE) and Advanced 2 qualifications in Tap, Modern, and Cecchetti Ballet. Jenny also studied Spanish Dance up to the Elementary level and trained in Street/Break Dance, Commercial, Contemporary, Pas de deux, Jazz, Partner Work, and freestyling.

Professional Career

Jenny’s teaching career commenced at Rondo Ballet School, followed by several years of professional dancing and choreography. She then secured a teaching position at The Hammond School in Chester, where she taught various dance styles including tap, modern, jazz, street dance, commercial, and ballet. During her time there, Jenny choreographed multiple productions, prepared students for ISTD exams, and was promoted to timetable co-ordinator. After four years, she left to pursue her own venture, JC Dance.

JC Dance and Further Teaching Roles

Jenny’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish JC Dance, where she ran her own classes and dance camps in various locations. Her passion for dance and education culminated in the opening of her own Dance Academy in 2014. Under her guidance, the academy grew from 30 to over 200 students, offering numerous performance, competition, and examination opportunities.

Current Roles and Achievements

Jenny continues to teach after-school clubs and workshops in primary schools and adjudicates dance competitions across the UK. She is also the choreographer for Abba Gold the Concert Show, which tours Europe.

In collaboration with her business partner and friend Jenni Nolan-Owens, Jenny launched Dancing Dots Ltd. Their innovative Ballerina Bear and Hip Hop Hippo classes have been successfully taught across the UK, with further details available at www.dancingdots.co.uk.
