Street/Break Dance Adv Crew

Advanced Street/Break Dance Classes

Our advanced street/break dance classes are designed for experienced dancers aged 10 and up. These classes are for those who have trained at JC Dance Academy and achieved this level or have trained at a different school to a high standard.

Miss Jenny and her talented team of teachers place a strong emphasis on Break Dance in our classes, nurturing some fantastic Bboys and Bgirls. B-boying, or breaking, is a vibrant style of street dance that emerged in the mid-1970s among Puerto Rican and African American youths in the Bronx. This dance form incorporates a variety of dynamic body movements, including spins, arm movements, and leg movements, all performed to the rhythm of hip hop music.

Breakdancing reached peak popularity in the 1980s and remains widely practiced today. It has even gained international recognition and is now featured in the Olympics. Our classes aim to keep this exciting tradition alive, offering students both a historical perspective and a contemporary approach to street dance.

Our dance classes offer a dynamic mix of Break Dance, Hip Hop, House, and Commercial Street Dance, designed to be enjoyable and engaging for both boys and girls. These sessions are a highlight at our School, attracting many enthusiastic participants.

As students advance in their skills, they have the opportunity to compete in various dance competitions, showcasing their talents. Additionally, every year we present an exciting annual show at the Parr Hall, giving our students a platform to perform and shine.

In this class, dancers will refine their techniques, learn complex routines, and enhance their performance skills. They will become competent break dancers and be able to pick up choreography quickly.
